On June 14-16, 2022, the Europa Cup 2022 regatta will be held in Dziwnów in the extremely popular (also Olympic) sailing class ILCA. It should be added that the competition in this series (Europa Cup) has been held in Dziwnów since 2014 (except 2019), and it is very popular every year. Highly rated in terms of sports and organization, the World Championships in the Laser Radial class (2014) and the U21 European Championships in the Laser Radial class (2019), resulted in the interest of many sailing federations (from Europe and other continents), which each time translates into a large group of participants. We hope that, thanks to the favorable wind conditions, the sports level of the regatta will be high, and that each participant will be satisfied with their stay in Dziwnów.

We would like to add that this year’s Europa Cup regatta is a kind of introduction to the European Championship in the ILCA 4 class, which will be held in Dziwnów on June 18-25, 2022. The second half of June promises to be extremely exciting and will undoubtedly be marked by the ILCA class not only in Dziwnów, but also in the entire region. At the same time, we would like to remind you that the entry fee can be made in cash on the spot (i.e. at the Regatta Office during registration) or by bank transfer. Below we present organizational information related to the Europa Cup Poland regatta in Dziwnów.

REGATTA OFFICE AND REGISTRATION

Applications will be made at the Regatta Office, which will be open on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (June 14, 15 and 16, 2022), the Regatta Office will be open from 8.00 am until all protests are examined and the work is completed by the judging team. During registration, you should have a proof of payment of the registration fee to the organizer’s bank account. Bank transfer details:

If you did not make the entry fee by bank transfer, you can make the payment at the race office in cash. We remind you that the entry fee is EUR 80 (or the equivalent in PLN) until June 7, 2022. Application after this date is subject to an entry fee of EUR 100 (or the equivalent in PLN).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

YACHT PORT AND PARKING PLAN

Below we present the plan of the Yacht Port with details of parking spaces for cars and trailers. Importantly, parking in the car parks around the Yacht Port is free of charge for regatta participants, provided that they have a special parking ticket, which will be available at the regatta office during registration.

Today (On Wednesday, August 18, 2021 a year) have been completed lasting from Monday 16 August 2021 year, the Europe Cup regatta series (in the Laser class / ILCA), which once again has been held in the waters Dziwnowa. A total of 161 competitors from 11 countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Ukraine, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Hungary) took part in the regatta.

Out of the planned 8 races (three on Monday and Tuesday and two on Wednesday), only three were finally carried out, which was due to the weather, namely the strong wind that reached Dziwnów along with the forecasted weather breakdown. Apart from Monday (the first day of the competition), the weather conditions were so severe that the yachts did not leave the port on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Safety is the most important thing – this is how the jury explained their decision, but it was enough to look at the Strait of Dziwna and the waves forming in its waters to realize what it looks like on the sea.

Ultimately, three Monday races were the basis for selecting the winners in each category. The best in their classes and categories were: Kuba Rodziewicz, Wojciech Klimaszewski, Oskar Madonich (Ukraine), Anna Munch (Denmark), Laura Szulc, Natalia Burczyńska, Przemysław Machowski, Hubert Roszyk, Aleksandra Borucka, Jakub Rusiniak.

The special guest at the end of the regatta was the president of the West Pomeranian District Sailing Association, Mr. Marcin Raubo. Jacek Klimecki, who is responsible for the organization of the regatta, thanked the sponsors and partners of the event, the judging team as well as the security and preparation services for the regatta on land and at sea.

Although currently, the organization of regatta events is not associated with far-reaching restrictions, so due to the sanitary requirements still in force, the organization of these competitions will take place in a special mode, i.e. in accordance with epidemic recommendations regarding the organization of sports events (e.g. EurIlca guidelines). The organizational team will make every effort to properly ensure the safety of competing competitors, while providing all the necessary components for the efficient conduct of the competition. We hope that thanks to the favorable wind conditions, the sports level of the regatta will be high, and that each participant will be satisfied with their stay in Dziwnów.

The local organization has been working hard over the past weeks on the sanitation aspects and fulfilling all sanitary recommendations (which concerns the virus). Dziwnów has a great marina, modernized in 2018, adding a few amenities, which makes it more functional and easier to manage in line with the new safety regulations.
Mid-August is a good time for the regatta area as it is a time with many windy days. Such exciting races are almost guaranteed. That is why we invite you to Dziwnów. They will be properly prepared and secured. See you in Dziwnów :-).

Let’s go back to sail! The 2020 Laser Europa Cup will return to the action in Dziwnów, Poland, from August 17-19. More than 100 sailors have already registered in the Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 fleets. Entries will be open until Monday 10th. The local organisation was working hard during the last weeks on the sanitary aspects and complying with all recommendations. Dear Sailors, in less than two weeks Laser Europa Cup Poland will begin in Dziwnów. The competition will last for three days (from 11th to 13th August, ie from Saturday to Monday) and the main venue of the regatta will be the Yacht Port (located at 30 Zeromskiego St.), which was extended just before summer. Detailed information about the opening hours of the race office will be published soon.
In the meantime, we invite to watch a short film of the last year’s edition of Laser Europa Cup Poland, which took place in Dziwnów at the end of August.

It’s worth mentioning that Laser Europa Cup has been taking place in Dziwnów since 2014. That summer 2014 the Laser Radial World Championship also took place in Dziwnów. It was an event that is very pleasantly remembered. Organizational efforts, atmosphere and – what is particularly worth emphasizing – sailing conditions were appreciated. Windy reservoirs, the location of the Marina and the interesting location of Dziwnów itself are undoubtedly one of these assets, that make the regatta has an everlasting interest.
We would also like to remind that next year’s Laser U21 European Championships will take place in Dziwnów. And that means that the participation in the August Europa Cup “opens the way” before the next year’s competition for European titles.
So, we encourage sailors to come and participate. See you at the start :-).

Although the weather was very changeable during the regatta it was possible to complete all the races. Congratulations for the winners and good luck for all the sailors in next Europa Cup competition in Greece (the last weekend of July). Dziwnów is going to host Laser Class again next year.

The second, very windy day of regatta has just finished. The weather was very capricious from the morning, rain and wind (up to 20 m/s) .
Later in the afternoon it was possible to launch the boats and complete two races. The wind was a little bit weaker, the sun was shining and the sailors could start racing. The results after four races in the link below:

The first day of registration is over. There are about 172 sailors from 20 countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hong Kong, Lithuania, Ukraine, Italy, France, Switzerland, Hungary, India, Australia, Russia, Norway, Great Britain, Portugal, China, the USA, Bahrain, Indonesia).

The competition starts tomorrow. The first warning signal at 11:00. We hope that the weather will be fine and it will be possible to finish all the races.
